is famous for its banyan tree’s that line this street near the Hilo International airport. Know as the “Hilo Walk of Fame” for all the banyan trees that were planted by celebrities. The trees are also known for there endurance, as they have survived many Tsunamis.
Most of the trees have survived the Tsunamis and now have grown into a thick overhead canopy, which makes for the perfect place to walk. Most of the tree’s still bear the names of those who planted them. The famous included Cecil B. DeMille, Richard Nixon and “Babe” Ruth, to mention a few.
