Maui Cities and Towns
are as diverse as any. The popultion base for many of the Maui cities are in the high thousands, but you’ll find many much smaller towns and villages. There are many villages where you will find only a couple of dozen people living here. There are villages on Maui’s east side that have no power or running water. This is the ultimate off the grid living. The Maui cities of Kahului and Lahaina are the largest on the island and we should probably include Kihei in that distinction as well.
If your looking for seclusion, your find it in East Maui. Back in the days of the ancient Hawaiians, East Maui was home to hundreds of people that thrived in the many fishing villages that dotted the coast. That all ended when King Kamehameha waged war in the area and drove the villagers away. This side of the island is home to only a few dozen people. At any rate, no matter what your looking for, there is a Maui City, or town, or even a little village that will fulfill your every need.
